The Doyon, Limited Shareholder Relations Committee awards organizations and individuals a Daaga’ grant, up to $1,500, for activities that encourage drug- and alcohol-free living in their communities.
Doyon’s Daaga’ Awards represent the unified efforts of Native leaders to promote drug- and alcohol-free communities. It encompasses the following beliefs:
- The source of healing lies in the ability of local people to help themselves.
- We should utilize the strength of our traditional values to focus on a healthy vision of the future.
- We should work together to promote programs that integrate the spiritual, social and economic needs of our people.
The Doyon, Limited Shareholder Relations Department would like to offer the following guidelines for those individuals or organizations wishing to apply for funding: The proposal should be in a one- to two-page format and should include the purpose and goal of the project, a description of the individual or organization requesting the funding, a statement of need (a budget or a list of other funding sources), a project description, a timeline, and the name, mailing address, e-mail address (if applicable) and telephone number of a contact person. A letter of support from your village council is required.
