Doyon, Limited Get Out the Native Vote (GOTNV)

Doyon President and CEO Norman Phillips, Jr. stated that the initiative is an opportunity for Doyon shareholders and others in the Native community to “grow our voices and be heard, as the Native community is a major economic contributor to the Fairbanks Borough and within the state. It is important that we fulfill our civic duty and be regular participants in local elections.”

As part of its GOTNV efforts, Doyon registered voters, provided election information, and held a mayoral candidate forum.

Doyon’s GOTNV initiative is ongoing, so please check back for additional information on the latest GOTNV efforts.

FNSB Mayoral Race Concludes, Doyon GOTNV Efforts Continue

Luke Hopkins is the new Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) mayor. Hopkins garnered the most votes in a November 3 run-off election against mayoral candidate Tammie Wilson, with slightly more than 52 percent of the voters casting their ballots for Hopkins. He began his three-year mayoral term in mid-November.

Doyon, Limited, which is headquartered in Fairbanks, sought to educate shareholders on the mayoral candidates and encouraged all shareholders to participate in their local elections through its Get Out the Native Vote (GOTNV) initiative.

While the FNSB mayoral race has concluded, Doyon will continue its GOTNV initiative, which seeks to increase awareness of the importance of voting, and encourages shareholders to participate in the election process.
