Doyon, Limited Announces 2013 Shareholder Dividend

Fairbanks, Alaska – The Doyon, Limited board of directors approved a shareholder dividend in the amount of $4.23 per share, or $423 per 100 shares, during their quarterly meeting in Fairbanks on August 17, 2013. The dividend will be distributed to shareholders on December 10, 2013.

Doyon has paid shareholders a dividend every year since 1987. The dividend is based on a five-year average of net income.

Important Dates to remember:
November 12, 5 p.m. – last day to apply for direct deposit
November 21, 5 p.m. – last day to make address changes
December 10, 2013, Dividend Day – dividends are mailed to the address on file as of November 21 or direct deposited

Please note: all shareholders with a bad address on file at Doyon WILL NOT receive their dividend, and need to contact shareholder records. This includes shareholders signed up for direct deposit.

I didn’t change my address and it is different from what Doyon has on file. What do I do?
Call, fax or email address changes to shareholder records by November 21. After November 21, shareholders should place a forwarding address on file with their post office and also update their address with shareholder records.

How do I apply for direct deposit?
Shareholders have until November 12 to apply for direct deposit. The direct deposit application is available at http://www.doyon.com/shareholders/forms_applications.aspx or by contacting shareholder records.

When will checks be mailed? When will checks be direct deposited?
On December 10, 2013, dividends will be direct deposited or mailed to the address on file as of November 21. Shareholders are strongly encouraged to update their contact information as soon as possible and to have their checks direct deposited. The deadline to apply for direct deposit is November 12. Shareholders who receive checks and have moved must update their address with Doyon by November 21.

Can you hold my check so I can pick it up prior to it being mailed?
All checks are either mailed to shareholders or direct deposited into their bank accounts.

Can my check be direct deposited to my bank?
Shareholders can print the form from http://www.doyon.com/shareholders/forms_applications.aspx or Doyon can fax or mail the form to shareholders. The deadline for direct deposit applications is November 12.

If Doyon mails the check on December 10, when will I receive it?
It depends on the postal delivery time.

How long is my check valid?
Checks are valid for six months; after the six month period the check has to be reissued.

I lost my check. Can you stop payment?
Stop payments must be used as a last resort as it takes about 2 months and Doyon must pay a fee for every stop payment issued. The earliest a stop payment action can be submitted to the bank is January 10, 2014. Doyon can mail shareholders a stop payment form, which must be signed and returned. The bank holds the stop payment for 10 business days. Then Doyon will reissue a check 5–10 business days later to be mailed to the shareholder.

My check was stolen. What do I do?
If a shareholder believes their signature was forged, Doyon can send forgery paperwork to the shareholder which must be then be delivered to the local police to file a report. For specific information, please contact shareholder records.

I borrowed money and signed a letter relinquishing my dividend. Can you send the check to the person who gave me the loan?
Doyon checks cannot be assigned to another person.

Can the IRS or child support garnish my Doyon dividend?
Doyon must withhold when notified by the IRS and also honor all child support court orders received. For specific cases, please contact shareholder records.

The custodian for a child/adult is not who Doyon has listed in Doyon’s records. How can I get it changed?
For specific cases, please contact shareholder records.

Is this dividend taxable?
The December 10, 2013 dividend is taxable income.

I didn’t get my child (Class C) enrolled yet. Do Class C children get this dividend?
If the child is enrolled by November 21, 2013, they will receive the dividend. If not enrolled by this date, they may be eligible for future dividends.

My relative passed away and the shares haven’t transferred yet. What happens to their dividend?
The dividend is held. When the shares are transferred to the heirs, the heirs will receive all held dividends.

My name changed. How do I change the name on my check?
For specific cases, please contact shareholder records.

I own Elder stock (Class E). Do I get this dividend?
Those shareholders with Class E stock will receive the money for the additional 100 shares in their dividend.
