13 Graduate from Doyon Leadership Training
Last month, 13 Doyon, Limited shareholders and employees graduated from the 2015 Doyon Leadership Training (DLT). The participants completed 10 months of two-day classes that focused on the development of personal and professional skills. Each graduate also completed a project, which was presented to Doyon senior management and staff.
Acceptance to DLT is a competitive process that includes submitting an application, cover letter and two letters of recommendation, and completion of an interview.
“The questions asked during the interview for DLT is just like what might be asked during a job interview,” said Liz Dayton, 2015 DLT graduate. “Applicants should be prepared to look inward and understand what is wanted out of life.”
Graduates make the commitment to attend the training, which includes obtaining permission from their employers to allow them to be excused from work two days per month.
Many DLT graduates view the training as a life-changing experience because of the tools that participants are armed with, the personal and professional development conversations with members of Doyon’s senior management team, and the trust and comradery that is built with classmates.
When asked to reflect on the past 10 months of DLT, Dayton said she knew she had to give 100 percent to the training so that she could fully benefit from it. “DLT helped me to focus on the big picture, to figure out what I want out of life, and it armed me with the tools I need to succeed,” she said.
Congratulations and much success to the 2015 Doyon Leadership Training class!
