2018 Daaga’ Awards Applications Accepted
Applications are now available for the 2019 Daaga’ Awards. Proposals for the 2019 Daaga’ Awards will be accepted until Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at 5 p.m. AKST.
The Daaga’ grants are awarded to organizations that promote drug- and alcohol-free events and projects. Applicants submit proposals that outline the project description, timeline, advertising, financial statement of need, and other funding sources, and also provide a letter of support from the village or tribe.
The proposed projects should support the values of the Daaga’ Awards, specifically:
- Contribution to the healing that lies within the local people
- Utilize the strength of traditional values
- Encourage programs that integrate spiritual, social and economic needs of the communities
Daaga’ Award recipients can receive up to $3,000 in funding. Most participant projects have cash or in-kind contributions from their community or other funding sources in addition to what is provided by Doyon, Limited. For this reason, Daaga’ should be considered supplemental funding and not be the only support sought when funding a program.
In 2018, Doyon provided $49,000 in funding to 18 Interior organizations that applied for Daaga’ grants.
