Doyon Kicks Off AFN with Shareholder Reception
Doyon, Limited kicked off the 2018 Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) Convention with a shareholder reception held at the Sheraton Hotel in Anchorage on October 17. Nearly 500 shareholders gathered to visit with Doyon’s board members, learn more about the proposed Doyon Settlement Trust and enjoy a nice meal.
Aaron Schutt, Doyon president and CEO, gave a brief presentation about the proposed Doyon Settlement Trust and took some questions from the audience. Staff were also on hand to help shareholders vote online using the eProxy system.
“Our appreciation goes out to our shareholders that were able to join us for the evening. It is always a wonderful opportunity to visit with you,” Schutt said.
Shareholders from all over the state were in attendance and enjoyed the opportunity to visit with one another. An impromptu performance was given by a group of people from Nulato, mainly because a group of students from the same community were unable to make it to Anchorage due to weather. The group, led by singer Tristan Madros, sang several songs from Kaltag and Nulato.
