Doyon Seeks Shareholder Summer Internship Applicants
Doyon, Limited is currently seeking summer internship applicants for its Fairbanks office. Specifically for Doyon shareholders, the strategically designed, paid internship program opens a window into the operations of the Doyon Family of Companies, allowing interns to explore how a career with Doyon might support their life goals. Doyon is proud to have many current full-time employees that previously participated in the program.
Current internship opportunities include:
The accounting intern, who will report to the Doyon accounting manager, will learn first-hand how corporate accounting processes work. Duties for this position will include journal entries, assisting with employee expense reports, administering account reconciliations, and providing assistance with various other accounting-related projects as assigned.
The Doyon administrative intern reports to the senior vice president of administration, and provides administrative support to Doyon staff and senior managers as needed. This internship is a great opportunity for someone who wants to gain basic office skills and experience working in a fast-paced corporate setting.
The communications intern will report to the vice president of communications. The intern will work on projects such as writing monthly shareholder newsletter articles, managing the employee intranet, creating corporate advertisements and marketing materials, and assisting as needed to achieve communications goals. A student pursuing a degree in marketing, communications or public relations, and who has Adobe Photoshop and InDesign experience, is preferred.
Get Out the Native Vote Internship
The Get Out the Native Vote (GOTNV) intern will report to the village outreach liaison, and work with Tanana Chiefs Conference and Fairbanks Native Association partner staff to plan, coordinate and manage GOTNV events. The intern will prepare articles and website and social media content, and assist in designing GOTNV marketing materials. This internship is a great opportunity for someone who is campaign-driven and interested in supporting a bi-partisan effort.
Human Resources Internship
The human resources intern will report to the talent development manager, and will be vital in creating career pathways for Doyon employees and analyzing data to make compensation and benefits recommendations. Job duties will include data entry of certifications, education, licenses and other employee data, and developing knowledge of HR laws and regulations. The intern will work with the HR business unit, compensation and benefits, and shareholder outreach departments to assist with projects and company employment initiatives.
Lands and Resources Internship
The lands and resources intern will report to the operations manager, and work with the lands and resources team in Fairbanks to provide general office support in addition to data-gathering duties. The intern will work with highly sensitive, confidential information, and will need to uphold confidentiality and safeguard confidential information at all times.
Currently, these internship opportunities require the shareholder applicant to be a college sophomore or higher, in good standing, with at least a 3.0 GPA.
