
Doyon Welcomes 2017 Summer
Doyon, Limited is pleased to welcome its 2017 summer interns: Mandy Sellin, accounting intern, and Justin Kokrine, administrative intern. Doyon Utilities welcomes Tiffany Knott, administrative intern, and Selina Sam, administrative intern. Dylan Gavora and Landon Erickson were also hired as summer Fort Wainwright fitter trainees. Doyon Government Group in Federal Way, Washington welcomes Loretta Lolnitz as their proposal intern.
Each year, the Doyon Family of Companies offers 12-week, paid internships to shareholders who are attending college and are in good standing. The Doyon internship program gives shareholders the opportunity to develop a better understanding of their Alaska Native corporation and build their resume and useful skills for future employment, all while aiding Doyon and the family of companies in its mission. Specifically, the program is designed to:
- Provide work experience pertaining to the students’ degrees
- Give an opportunity for future employment
- Open avenues for professional networking
- Build confidence and good work ethic
Successful interns were required to apply for their desired position through the Doyon Talent Bank and go through a job interview process.
Summer intern positions are posted to the Doyon website between December and June each year. Intern opportunities vary yearly. Past Doyon, Limited intern positions have included administration, accounting, communications, finance, Get Out the Native Vote, human resources, information technology, lands, legal, operations and shareholder records. Doyon subsidiaries have offered positions such as proposal intern, administrative, accounting and utility fitter trainees.
