Doyon, Limited recently signed an agreement for gold exploration on Doyon surface and subsurface lands at Flat with Tectonic Metals, Inc (Tectonic). Flat is located approximately 80 miles southwest of McGrath and approximately 60 miles east of Holy Cross. The agreement is focused on early stage exploration.
HISTORY
In the land selection process, Doyon’s leadership worked to make many land selections for minerals resources potentials with the goal of future projects that could provide future in-village job, training, education, contracting opportunities, and opportunities to build rural economies. The minerals resources include mostly gold, as well as base minerals such as zinc, copper, and silver.
Flat was selected for its gold potential. It includes four townships, or approximately 92,000 acres, of Doyon land. Doyon has partnered several times in the past on exploration for soils sampling and drilling in this location.
In September 2022, Tectonic will be at Flat conducting soils sampling as part of its very early-stage activities. Future season activities could include geophysics, soils sampling, and drilling as the project moves forward.
