“Get up, move, do something!” This is the spirit of the Daaga’ Awards, which Doyon, Limited presents annually to organizations planning healthy, drug- and alcohol-free community events and programs.
Applications are now being accepted for the 2018 Daaga’ Awards. Proposals are due by Friday, January 12, 2018, at 5 p.m. AKST.
Proposals should outline the project description, timeline, advertising, financial statement of need, and other funding sources. Applicants must also provide a letter of support from the village or tribe.
Selected projects will be funded up to $3,000. Most applicants have cash or in-kind contributions from their community or other funding sources to supplement the Daaga’ Award.
Since 1990, Doyon has awarded more than $220,000 in Daaga’ funding. In 2017, $36,000 in funding was provided to 12 Interior organizations. Funded projects varied from cultural sewing workshops and summer youth camps to firearm safety and a youth fiddler group.
