Esther McCarty lives in Ruby, Alaska. She serves on Doyon’s Finance Committee. She is also a member of the Doyon Government Contracting, Inc. board. McCarty is also a board member of K’oyitL’ots’ina, Ltd., currently serving as vice president of Brooks Range Contract Services, vice president of KCorp Technology Services, Inc., Secretary/Treasurer of Soos Holding Company, LLC. and vice president of Yukon Fire Protection Services, Inc. McCarty earned a certificate as a Native language teacher in 2004 and an associate of arts degree in applied science, Native language education, in 2006 from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She was named as an “Athabascan Treasure” in the Doyon region in 2010 by the Alaska State Council on the Arts for her efforts in teaching the Koyukon Athabascan (Denaakke’e) language and for making memorial potlatch songs.
Her term ends in 2020.
