Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create an account?

If you’ve never created an account before, click the “new account” link on the Log In page. Next, on the “Submit Your Resumé” page, you’ll be asked a series of questions, including your name, phone number, and e-mail address. On this page you’ll also create a password. Your password, along with your e-mail address, will allow you to log back into the system anytime.

Can I apply for more than one position?

Once you’ve created an account, you can apply for as many jobs as you like. Just review the job description and click the Apply Online link. If prompted, log in using the e-mail address and password you provided when you created your account. You’ll see that many pages of the application will already be filled in with your existing account information. You can update this information anytime; those changes will be saved to your account for future use.

Be sure to click through to the end of the application, since some jobs may require additional information. By thoroughly completing the application you’ll avoid delays in processing.

Can I check the status of my application?

Yes. After logging in, click on the “View Submitted Applications” link on the left hand side of the page. Each application, along with its status, is displayed there.

What if I didn’t mean to apply for a job or accidentally applied to the wrong job?

Please contact the Human Resources department that recruits for the Doyon company with which you’ve applied.

I only see ten openings. How do I navigate through all available jobs?

The default view of the “Browse Open Jobs” page only shows ten openings at a time. To see more available jobs, use the “First,” “Previous,” “Next” and “Last” navigation arrows just below the last listing on the page. These will take you forward and back through the complete list of openings.

How do I search for specific jobs?

Click the “Search Open Jobs” link on the left hand side of the page. Narrow your search by entering as much search criteria as you like.

How do I copy and paste my resumé?

If you don’t see the “Resumé” box on the “Submit Your Resumé” page, you may be using an unsupported browser. Try using Google Chrome.

First, open your resumé file. Use the mouse to place the cursor at the beginning of your resumé in the upper left hand corner. Click and hold the left mouse button and pull the mouse all the way down and to the right to select the entire text. When you reach the end of the text, click the right mouse button and select “copy” or hold down the “ctrl” and “C” keys on your keyboard.

Using your mouse click the left mouse button to place the cursor in the large “Resumé” box on the “Submit Your Resumé” page. Click the right mouse button and select “paste” or hold down the “ctrl” and “V” keys on your keyboard. The text of your resumé should now appear in the “Resumé” box. If it does not appear, complete each of the steps again.

When your resumé text has been successfully pasted into the box, click the link that says “Parse Resumé” to fill in some of the fields below the “Resumé” box. Review for accuracy before moving to the next page. If you need to update your resumé, just click the “Edit Your Profile” link on the left hand side of the page.

How do I upload my resumé or cover letter?

On the “Upload Resumé” page, click the “Browse” button to open the “Choose file” dialog box. From here navigate to your saved resumé or cover letter file. We prefer .pdf, .doc, or .docx formats. When you find your file, click “Open.” The path to your file will appear in the “Upload File” field. Click the “Upload” button. The uploaded file will appear as an attachment just above your first name on the “Submit Your Resumé” page. Click your browser’s “back” button to ensure the file has been attached. Follow the instructions on the “Upload File” page to attach more files.

Can I update my information?

Yes. Using the email address and password you provided when you created your account, you can log back in to the system anytime to update your information. Just click the “Edit Your Profile” link on the left hand side of the page to make changes.

What do I do if the system is not accepting my e-mail address or password?

Have you created an account yet? If not, click on the link that says, “Click here to create a new account” just above the Email Address field. This will take you to the “Submit Your Resumé” page where you’ll be prompted to create a new account (see question 1).

If you’ve already created an account but you receive a message that says “Login Failed,” look for the message below the “Log In” button that says, “Can’t remember your password? Click here.” There you can enter your e-mail address and then click the button that says “Email My Password” to have your password sent to the e-mail address you provided when you created your account. You can also enter your e-mail address, choose your secret question, and enter your answer then click the “Log In” button to log into the system.

I can’t remember the answer to my secret question.

Please contact the Human Resources department that recruits for the Doyon company with which you’ve applied.

How will I know if my application has been submitted?

When your application is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email with the subject line, “Doyon has received your application!” This email will include your name, the position you applied for, and the Doyon company to which you’ve applied.

I received an email asking me for additional information but when I click the link it doesn’t work. How do I provide this information?

If clicking the link isn’t working for you, try copying and pasting the entire link into your browser’s address bar and hitting the “Return” button. This should take you into the system to provide the required information.

When can I expect to I hear if I’m selected for an interview?

We attempt to fill our job openings as quickly as possible. Some jobs are open continuously and are filled on an as-needed basis. If the listing has no close date, the job is either open continuously or open until filled. You can help by ensuring that your application has been filled out accurately and as completely as possible. Please be sure to keep your contact information current. Refer to Question 11 for help on updating your information.

Why haven’t I received any emails from Doyon about my job application?

Look through your junk mail folder—your email reader may have mistaken our email to you as junk mail. Check your junk mail settings and be sure to add “@doyon.com” to your list of approved senders.

Why has my application been marked as ‘Incomplete’? I think I’ve completed all the required fields.

It may be that there’s still a field in the application that hasn’t been filled in. To be sure, log in and page through your application carefully to ensure that all required fields—those marked with an asterisk (*)—have been filled in. You’ll know your application is complete when you come to the page that reads, “Thank you for your interest. Your resumé has been received and will be reviewed. Should we determine a match between your background and our staffing requirements, we will contact you.”

Who are Doyon shareholders?

Doyon, Limited shareholders are primarily of Interior Athabascan Indian descent. As an Alaska Native Regional Corporation set up through ANCSA, Doyon is different from a typical corporation in that Doyon has no publicly traded stock and its shares cannot legally be sold.

Do I have to be a shareholder to apply for a job?

You don’t have to be a shareholder to be hired as an employee within the Doyon family of companies. However, as an Alaska Native Regional Corporation, we grant preference to Doyon shareholders and shareholders of other Alaska Native Corporations.
