Subsidiary News: DUS Begins Providing Security Services to Alaska Regional Hospital
The Doyon Universal Services (DUS) Security Division launched the first of a three-phase transition to begin new work providing security services across the Alaska Regional Hospital Campus (ARC) in Anchorage in April 2015. This project marks a major step in the division’s business plan to extend operations to new sectors within the critical infrastructure market.
“Our ability to translate our core security services competencies to the Alaska Regional Campus is a critical component of our plan to maintain the robust growth we’ve experienced up to now, which in the past has been largely dependent on the oil and gas industry,” said Bill Gause, DUS vice president for security.
This contract also reflects the DUS focus of providing peerless security services to companies that share the DUS values of integrity, teamwork and people. DUS is proud to stand with Alaska Regional Hospital in their mission to support Alaskans in safe and secure facilities where commitment to the care and improvement of human life comes first.
The DUS security team on the contract, which was fully deployed in June, includes a director of security for the medical campus, and 15 full-time and six on-call security officer positions. The DUS security officers assigned to ARC work around-the-clock both inside the main hospital and at the adjacent medical office buildings, where doctors maintain offices and see patients.
DUS joins Alaska Regional at a critical time for the medical facility, which is in the midst of a major remodeling initiative. The contract is being managed out of DUS’s Anchorage office, under the direction of DUS’s newest security director, Zach Dunlap, and security director, Joe D’Amico.
