Doyon, Limited Welcomes Dan Winkelman as New President and Chief Executive Officer

Fairbanks, AK – Doyon, Limited is pleased to announce that Dan Winkelman will become President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Doyon, Limited, effective June 1, 2026.  

Dan Winkelman has rich experience in Alaska and comes to Doyon from the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC). In his role at YKHC Dan exhibited inspirational leadership, strong communication, and resilience – focusing on investment, quality and safety in operations.  

Dan received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon and a Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico.

Dan is a Doyon shareholder and a Deg Hit’an Athabascan Indian from Anchorage, with family originally from Shageluk and McGrath, Alaska. Dan is an enrolled member of the Shageluk Native Tribe.

Dan will be based in Fairbanks, Alaska, at the company’s headquarters, and will be responsible for working with the Board of Directors to set the overall direction of the Doyon Family of Companies and providing leadership to the senior management team. Dan will support more than 2,300 employees located in Alaska and across the nation. His role will also encompass the Companies’ profitable operations and investments, shareholder employment and training opportunities, and community relations.

Aaron Schutt, Doyon’s incumbent President and CEO, will remain in the role through June 1, during the leadership transition, when Dan will fully assume the role as Doyon President and CEO.

The Doyon Board of Directors thanks Aaron for his twenty years of service, contributing to Doyon’s growth.
