The Doyon Shareholder Survey
In October 2025, Doyon conducted a survey to hear directly from our shareholders and strengthen our future together. Shareholders voiced opinions to ensure those values and needs were heard. The fully confidential survey was designed to empower our shareholders with honest communication. The findings will inform Doyon’s business initiatives, employment opportunities, descendant registration, shareholder benefits, and engagement priorities in the coming years.
Thank You, Survey Respondents!
Doyon would like to thank everyone who took the time to complete the survey — your input matters to us. By taking a few minutes to record your perspectives, you helped to ensure our work reflects the needs of our shareholders.
Shareholders who completed the survey were entered into a prize drawing as a way for Doyon to say thank you for voicing your opinions and for using your valuable time to strengthen our shared future. Refer to Doyon’s November E-Newsletter to see the winners.
Our Shared Future
Your input helps align our collective values as shareholders and as a united people. Doyon’s Board and leadership use shareholder priorities to make informed decisions about programs, benefits, and future opportunities. Thank you for influencing the future we share.
The Doyon Shareholder Survey presented questions about a descendant registry. This is a record-keeping system used by many Alaska Native corporations to stay connected with the children, grandchildren, and future generations of current shareholders, providing better support and benefits for future generations as we grow together. A descendant registry allows us to engage and prepare the future leaders of our communities through internships, training, and educational support.

In the survey, Doyon asked questions about a descendant registry. This is a record-keeping system used by many Alaska Native corporations to track the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of current shareholders.
Survey feedback from other Alaska Native corporations highlights that many shareholders support a descendant registry because it connects future generations to culture and heritage, ensures descendants have opportunities for education and employment, and helps prepare the next generation of leaders.
- It helps keep families connected to Doyon.
- It ensures our future leaders are engaged and prepared.
- It provides access to opportunities such as internships, training, and educational support.
- It simplifies future processes of inheritance and gifting.
Beginning in summer 2026, Doyon registered descendants will be eligible for:
- Hiring preference and training opportunities
- Summer internship program
- Participation in Doyon’s descendant spotlight program
- Receiving the Doyon newsletter
- Being registered as a descendant does not create new stock or expand the shareholder base. It is a tool to help connect and engage descendants, as well as prepare for future gifting or inheritance.
- Registered descendants will not receive the Doyon Settlement Trust distribution.
- Registering as a descendant does not provide voting rights.
