Stanley Tyler Huntington, of Galena, Alaska, is the son of Joyce Huntington of Koyukuk and the late Stanley Huntington of Huslia. His paternal grandfather is the late Jimmy Huntington of Huslia, and his maternal grandparents are the late Edward and Laura Pitka of Koyukuk.

Huntington is the owner and operator of Hog River Construction, a company focused on lifting and rebuilding residential housing, improving heating systems, restoring water and sewer services, implementing structural repairs, and providing additional services that strengthen local communities.

Through Hog River Construction, Huntington creates employment opportunities across the Doyon Region, Norton Sound Region, and Yukon-Kuskokwim Region, helping support workforce growth and economic stability throughout rural Alaska.

Currently, Hog River Construction is working to rebuild homes and infrastructure damaged by Typhoon Halong in the communities of Kwigillingok Napaskiak, and Nightmute, Alaska.

To support this effort, Hog River Construction has partnered with Common Cents Consultants, a Native-owned consulting firm, to hire 41 individuals from communities including Bethel, Tuluksak, Mertarvik, Napaskiak, Dillingham, Cold Bay, Grayling, Holy Cross, Galena, Tanana, Golovin, Toksook Bay, Kwigillingok, Nightmute, Hughes, and Allakaket. These local hires will assist with rebuilding efforts in Kwigillingok Napaskiak, and Nightmute.

Huntington says the company is “just getting started. The work ahead is big, and the accomplishments will come through action.”

Hog River Construction was founded with a clear purpose: to improve quality of life in Alaska’s rural communities, demonstrate that major construction projects can be completed using a local workforce, and provide high-paying, meaningful job opportunities that keep families rooted in their home communities. Huntington plans to continue expanding the company to support even more Alaskan families and strengthen the state’s economy.

Huntington’s advice to future generations is simple and powerful: “Do not let opportunities pass you by. Set clear goals and go after them with purpose. The path won’t always be easy, but consistency, commitment, andhard work will open doors you never expect.”
