Camron, of Fairbanks, Alaska, is a Division I NCAA Track & Field athlete at the University of Texas, Austin. He runs the 800-meter for his team, and he recently ran his personal best time of 147.97 seconds, making him the 2nd fastest 800-meter runner in Alaskan history! Camron is ranked in the top 15 nationwide out of all Division I NCAA 800-meter runners and will graduate in May with his degree in Psychology.
Camron is an avid fisherman, and, in the summertime, you will find him in the great rivers of Alaska. He is driven in success, but also compassion. He is appreciative of his Gwich’in heritage, and especially his late Grandma Sally (John) Herron. It’s not uncommon for you to hear him say “this one’s for Grandma Sally” after winning a race or hunting down a large moose. After graduation, he plans to settle back home in Alaska and continue to enjoy all this great state has to offer.
