Rig Operations

The month of August has seen steady progress on the Yukon Flats Exploration Project. Hilcorp’s custom-built drilling rig—which has been specially designed to operate in the Yukon Flats region with a minimal footprint—is in place and operational after being transferred by barge and helicopter. Activity is underway at the project site near Birch Creek.

Air traffic is expected to occur at a regular pace during this phase of the project. In August and September, chartered flights will continue to transport supplies from Fairbanks to Birch Creek, and Hilcorp’s Chinook helicopter will be moderately active in the Birch Creek area. At the same time, Yukon Flats barge operations will slow to approximately one trip per week, traveling between the Yukon River bridge and the Lower Birch Creek Slough.

Looking Ahead

Operations at the project site will continue for the duration of the 2025 summer exploration season, until mid-October. Exploration of both identified drill sites is expected to continue into 2026. Doyon will continue to provide updates and transparently share progress with all shareholders.

Please note that hiring has been completed for 2025 seasonal positions. We encourage Doyon shareholders to check back next spring, when recruitment will likely begin again for the 2026 season.
