On June 30, 2022, Aiyana Reyhan Diaz unexpectedly passed away. Leaving her family and friends devastated. Aiyana was born on her moms birthday September 20, 1996. It was the greatest gift her mom could ever ask for.
Aiyana was a beautiful, caring and funny girl. She was the cause of a million laughs there was never a dull moment when you were with her. Aiyana was energetic and fun, she didn’t like to sit still for too long. She loved driving endlessly with her mom she liked adventures and living life to the fullest. Aiyana was proud to be Gwich’in Athabascan, she had a deep love for our people and culture.
During this time of grief we have been reminded of how much Aiyana was loved. We give many thanks to you all. The impact that Aiyana has made on our lives in her short 25 yrs with us will be cherished and we will deeply miss her. Aiyana loved her friends and family immensely.
She is preceded in death by her dad Eddie Diaz, grandmother Maxine Herbert, grandfathers Rev. Richard Treadwell II, Raul Diaz and Dale Marshall Those left to honor and cherish her memories are her mom Darcy Diaz, sisters Porsha, Teil and Tajae, brother Raul, grandmothers Shirley Treadwell and Arcelia Rosas, Aunts Lisa Parr, Darlene Herbert, Hazel Evans, Florida Merica, Rose Woods, Veronica, Yolanda and Claudia Diaz, uncles Percy Herbert jr and Ty Treadwell. Close cousins Tabitha, Jade, Chad, JB, Shane, Chris, Richard, Satina and Maria and her girls, her boyfriend Keith Nickoli. Mahsi’ choo to our family and friends who deeply loved Aiyana in Alaska, Oregon, Mexico, Florida and beyond.
