Charlotte James of Gwichyaa Zhee is the daughter of Brenda James of Fort Yukon and Ernest James of Birch Creek.
Her maternal grandparents are Charlotte and James “Jim” Peter of Fort Yukon and her paternal grandparents are Florence George-Weber of Stevens Village and Victor James of Birch Creek.
James owns a non-profit, AK Artistic Creations Inc., specializing in providing wellness activities to at-risk populations including Alaska Natives and American Indians. AK Artistic Creations Inc. provides an open, non-judgmental, and safe atmosphere for individuals to nurture creativity and healing. Activities include large skin and fur projects, beaded earrings, chain link beading, and beaded patchwork projects.
“The purpose is for individuals to learn about themselves and their gifts through art. The focus and patience that creating art require, help to nurture inner processes, and to align the inner voice with success and achievement,” said James.
