On Sunday, January 7, 2024 our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Kitty Nictune David joined her husband David in Heaven.
She was born on February 24, 1933 to Cora and Oscar Nictune, Sr. at Alatna. Kitty lived a subsistence lifestyle, and along with her husband David, raised her family that way. She served her community as the health aide for many years until she retired.
In February of 2023 she celebrated her 90th birthday. She worked the whole year to put together a potlatch for her late husband in August of 2023, even sewing a moose skin vest for each of her sons.
Kitty was preceded in death by her parents; Brothers Wallace, and Oscar Jr.; Sisters Ann, Elma, Bertha, and Stella; Son David David, Jr.; Daughter Eva Joyce David Albert; Grandsons Clifford Aaron David and Travis Kyle Sam; Granddaughter Sharon Richelle David; Great-granddaughter JesCynthia David.
She is survived by her daughter Evelyn (Andy) Esmailka; Sons Peter, Harold (Jessie), Richard (Lorraine), Carl (Janelle), and Gary. Special Niece Elsie Bergman; Grandchildren; Jordanna, Harlan, Jenna, Mitchell, Trisha, Russell, Edward, Harold, Jr., Harriet, Dylan, Tillila, Shara, RJ, Corrina, Stacy, Carl, Jr. Leah, Johnson, Clifford, Mitchell, and Special Granddaughter her and Grandpa David raised, Dawn Deanne David. And all her great grandchildren.
She was laid to rest next to her husband David & daughter Eva at Alatna cemetery on Saturday, January 13th, 2024 with a food potlatch held afterwards.
