Larry Murphy Frey

Born January 7th, 1959 – Passed October 2, 2021

Beloved son, brother and father.

Brought into this world Larry Neil Murphy, welcomed and loved by his parents 

Garrett and Lillian Murphy. Larry was the 6th of 7 children. Larry came to the Frey family in the fall of 1968, adopted in 1969.He was Joyfully enfolded into the family and embraced by his new parents Frances and Robert Frey. He started his new life on a remote homestead near Clear Alaska.  Larry blossomed doing well both in school and developing his artistic talents.

After leaving home at 17, Larry spent the next few years with his brother Gary and getting reacquainted with the Murphy side of the family.

Larry worked in the construction industry and in his spare time indulged is love of art with ivory carvings that seemed to have a life of their own. 

In his later years he reconnected with his Catholic roots and became active in the church and the Knights of Columbus. He spent many hours volunteering and working in the soup kitchen. He was at his best when he was helping others. He will be missed by many. Both families have lost a bright soul.

Larry was proceeded in death by parents Robert Lee Frey, Garret and Lillian Murphy, siblings Roberta (Frey) Seipel, Gary Murphy and Merlyn Murphy.

Larry is survived by his Mother Frances E. Frey, His son Justin Dahlgren and siblings Jimmy Walker, Mary Murphy, Margaret Murphy, Marty Frey and wife Sandra, Bridget Frey Hardy and Sue Marsh, Victoria Frey Long and spouse Mark Long. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews that share the loss of “Uncle Larry”

There will be a grave site service on Monday, June 20, 2022, at Birch Hill at 1 p.m., in the Catholic section.
