Doyon is excited to launch its new Descendant Registry webpage, a valuable resource designed to help descendants learn about and prepare for the upcoming Descendant Registry.

The Descendant Registry is an important step toward strengthening connections between Doyon and future generations. By helping descendants stay informed and engaged, the registry will expand access to information, programs, and opportunities that support personal and professional growth while fostering a lasting connection to Doyon.

The new webpage includes information about eligibility requirements, required documentation, frequently asked questions, and other resources to help descendants prepare for registration. The Descendant Registry application will be available on the webpage beginning in fall 2026, when registration officially opens.

To prepare for registration, Doyon encourages descendants to begin gathering the required documents now, including certified birth certificates.

“I am registering as a descendant to honor where I come from, preserve the connection for where we are going, and open a new door for opportunities for myself and my daughters,” said Acacia Johnson, Doyon descendant and Tribal Member of Gwichyaa Zhee Tribal Government.
