Colton Popp, age 30, was surrounded by family, when he passed away peacefully, in Auburn, Washington on November 14th, 2024.

Colton Sandy “Colt” Popp was born in Roseburg, Oregon on October 3rd, 1994. Colton was born to Brian Popp and LaDonna Martindale. Colton was part of a large tribe.

Colt is survived by his four parents, Brian and Wendy Popp and LaDonna and Gordon Martindale. On his father’s side he has sisters, Mercedez May and Victoria Popp, two nephews and a niece. On his mother’s side he has sisters Heather Clendening, Marlene Martindale, brothers Clifford Huling, and Nick Martindale, two nephews and two nieces.

Colt was a 2013 graduate of Archbishop Murphy High School, in Everett, Washington. He held many accomplishments during his time at Murphy. Colt was an honor student, a member of the varsity football team, in which he lettered, a friend and confidant to most anybody he came in contact with. Colt was truly loved by all. He had a contagious smile, a sarcastic sense of humor that would make anybody laugh and most of all, he was a fighter.

In kindergarten Colt was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. Being so young at the time, it was hard to comprehend what exactly that meant for his life. Colt faced many challenges over the years, including losing his ability to walk in middle school. This may have slowed him down physically but it did not stop him from being a true leader. He was not one to let his disability define his worth. He took his studies seriously, making honor roll every year throughout high school. He was recognized as a team manager of the football team, a role he took very seriously. He knew more about the game then some of the players.

Colt followed the NFL and enjoyed watching the games with his friends and family. His favorite team was the Indianapolis Colts. After high school Colton went on to obtain his AA degree from Green River Community College. Colt fought hard over the years, with this last year being one of the toughest for him.

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, Colton gained his wings. He is now dancing in the stars as he watches over all those who love and cared for him.

There will be celebrations of life for Colton in Oregon and Washington. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the MDA in Colton’s honor.
